State FAir Chase

Brand illustrations, character development, and ad campaign for the State Fair Corn Dog brand. Inspired by my children's book character work, Walton Isaacson asked me to help out with some inspiring illustrations to work alongside the concept of corn dogs fueling kids' fun.

Additionally in our continuing relationship, I've directed a couple of spot commercials, overseeing concept, storyboarding, animation, sound design, and of course illustration myself.

Cartoon character with glasses running energetically, wearing a yellow jacket and black pants on a white background.

Bugs Bunny was a big inspiration for this animation.

I looked closely at a lot of background art from the 1920’s-1950’s.

Cartoon of a purple monster chasing children through a sunny, wooded landscape. The children, holding a red balloon and a toy, are running away in fear. The scene is colorful and playful, with trees, grass, and a bright sun in the background.
A simple white shape resembling a surfboard or similar object on a dark background.

Taking on the animation project, and allowing some of my silly ideas leak into the animation process lead to some great results, like the 2D Peanuts style stomp clouds, seen below.
