Generative NFT Project

An NFT that sold out (~4,000 pieces) in an hour.

Song A Day NFT is a growing collection of songs that live on the Ethereum Blockchain. It began over 4 years ago and features over 4,000 songs over the last 14 years.

Each piece of art is composed of a Location, Topic, Instrument, Mood, and Beard - which correlated with the metadata of the song when it was created.

I was hired to create the artwork assets for the 2021 year of songs which included some 200 pieces of art which could be configured in a way to create thousands of unique images.

Illustrations depicting different traits such as mood, location, topic, instrument, and beards, centered around a character playing an acoustic guitar in various artistic styles and settings.

Each of the 365 images is generated by 5 layers of art.

Those layers are descriptors of the daily song he wrote which include Topics, Locations, Mood, Beards, and Instrument.

The collection sold out (fully minted) in about an hour at about .2 ETH (~800USD at the time) each.

Every element had to be carefully designed to fit the system so that each arm lined up with each body and each head, etc.

At the same time, the style needed to lend itself to feeling dynamic and unique for generated image.
