RISK ASSESSMENT

Iconography

A set of icons for an email risk assessment product.

I developed the design pattern and a few of the icons that will define their illustrated style during their rebrand.

They had this mix of 80% serious tone (risk assessment) captured through the mono weight lines and geometric smart shapes and then some fun flare that I tried to place with the gold organic, off center shapes.

A geometric grid approach to reflect the strength, reliability, and clean tech nature of Emailage while also staying versatile with scale, appropriate for small and large sizes. Stylistically offset with an organic overlay of the brand gold color. These elements lay outside of the grid and help show the fun and unique side of the brand that makes it glow. Throughout the icon set, we'd highlight pieces of the icon that are relevant.

A project like this is 80/20 development and execution. I spent a heavy amount of time researching the marketplace, discovering competition, who is doing well in the industry, bad, etc and what they're all doing in terms of graphic design and communication. What came of it was a large spattering of ideas, sketches, colors, and shapes none of which were anywhere near final or even good, but all pivotal in the final set of what seem like simple icons. Here's a bit of the later steps in that process.

Illustration of three credit cards decreasing in size from left to right, each card featuring lines, rectangles, and two orange circles representing a financial design.
